Grade 1

Music in the classroom engages the whole brain and involves each student. Music strengthens motor skills, helps to develop critical listening skills, improves memory, and helps to focus attention. The songs provide students with an opportunity to sing along and play along. Hand and body motions are demonstrated and practiced in the lessons to help students associate words with actions.

This familiar tune helps students identify when there is a problem and how to solve it. They learn to think, think, think, of helpful things for the problem and chose the one that is best to do.
